The character is a simple "flipped" stick puppet from India, employed mostly in
sillouette, referring to several precursors of cinema: shadow theatre, as well as
the two-image
flip cards or coins. An exaggerated primitive pixel size of the video
(a frill of the video camera)
abruptly transforms this traditional puppet into a figure
strongly resembling that of the now ubiquitous "fight" video games (themselves
frequently referencing traditional warriors, such as samourai).
In this case though,
the enemy is the camera itself.
